A MESSAGE FROM LANCE'Yello' everybody and welcome to my corner of the Lance Russell.com web site. This is the place where I'll sit and reminiscence about the people and events I saw during my time with Memphis wrestling. It's a chance to tell you about the way it was from one who was there. It's also a chance to tell you what I think about whatever's on my mind. I don't move as fast as I used to when I was ducking flying, folding chairs ringside at the Mid South Coliseum but I'm still movin' and I still have a lot to say, so be patient. You know for me it's always been about the fans and where ever I go I'm always surprised at the number of people who have pictures of me posing with them. So if you have a picture you'd like to share with everybody email it to this site and we'll put it up in the "PHOTOS" section. Send your pictures to lancerussellphotos@yahoo.com And please stop by the "FORUM" and tell us about your memories of Memphis wrestling. I'd love to hear what you think. Until then...watch out for those flying, folding chairs. Lance Russell
AND THE WALLS CAME TUMBLIN' DOWN
This day, that I want to write about, started just like all the other Saturdays but it became something very different.
TIME SLOT TURNAROUND
I was a little surprised recently by a question posted in the Forum of this website.
LIGHTS...CAMERA...AND BEHIND THE ACTION
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m very gratified by the interest and participation people have shown in this web site.
MY HALL OF FAME MOMENT
As the old “tongue-in-cheek” saying goes, “Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most”.
FLOUR IN THE FACE, AND MORE
The story I wrote last week about an incident involving Jimmy Hart and a sack of flour was true but it was only part of the story.
THE SNOW STORM THAT TURNED MY EYEBROWS WHITE
A big snowstorm put me into one of the stickiest situations I’ve ever known.
WORLD WRESTLING LEGEND PAY PER VIEW EVENT
Hey I just want to take a minute to put in a personnal plug for an upcoming wrestling pay-per-view event.
JOE LEDUC’S BLOOD OATH
It started like any other Saturday wrestling program but ended with one of the most amazing and shocking events I would ever see in my career.
THE DAY THE CROWD DISAPPEARED
I’m reminded of what, in hindsight, turned out to be a very funny incident one Saturday during the live television program.
MY FRIEND AND PARTNER DAVE BROWN
You might not know it, but some of my fondest Memphis Wrestling memories happened, not in the ring, but right beside me at the announcer’s desk. |
